Description

The New York State Healthy Neighborhoods Program (NYS HNP) is a healthy homes program that seeks to reduce the burden of housing-related illness and injury. Local health departments (LHDs) are funded to implement the program in selected, high-risk target areas. A surveyor assesses conditions in each home and provides interventions and guidance to address identified hazards. A quarter of homes receive an optional follow-up visit (revisit). The dataset includes information about dwelling characteristics, primary respondent demographics and the presence/absence of 42 specific housing conditions for dwellings visited by each LHD. Notes
Notes
The dataset includes county level summary data for dwellings visited by 13 local health departments. Summary data is also provided for all of the programs combined. This dataset does not include any revisit data. A separate data file with initial visit data and revisit data for the subset of dwellings that received a revisit is also available. This updated dataset may include adjustments that impact the entire dataset and not just the most recent year of data.
